nirsoft.net is 15 Years Old, and you get a new Pre-release Web page.

On August 26 2004, exactly 15 years ago, I purchased the nirsoft.net domain.
NirSoft Web site was actually  established around 2 – 3 years earlier, but it was hosted in some free hosting services and it was very hard
to keep the Web site alive, because all these free hosting services suspended NirSoft Web site after some time, saying that it had too much traffic…

Today, there are still a few tools on nirsoft.net that were originally released on 2001-2003 (Before nirsoft.net domain was purchased) – NirCmd, IECookiesView, Mail PassView, Dialupass, and maybe a few others.
If you want to see the NirSoft homepage from 15 years ago, you can take a look at the web.archive.org Web site, there is a copy of NirSoft homepage from September 2004:

nirsoft.net from Septermber 2004

For the 15th birthday of nirsoft.net domain – you get a small surprise: A Web page with new Pre-release tools.
These tools are still in development stage , and they still don’t have separated Web page, unique icons, help file, translations, and so on.
If you choose to download and try to use them  – do it very carefully !

You can find the Pre-release Web page in the following link:

Congrats for all your hard work on tools that helped me quickly and efficiently hundreds of times like no other tool (even paid) ever did. Nirsoft & Windows Sysinternals are almost the only ones I use.

While writing this comment, I realized that I never looked closely on your site to see if I could make a donation (always too busy resolving yet another issue…). Well, I just found the link and made my first donation.

    Best regards,

    Pascal, Belgium

I recently installed your tool to help me implement a keyboard shortcut ‘mutesysvolume’ to mute my system audio after installing a new keyboard lacking the needed keys.

Q: Is there a way to reduce the 4-5 second delay between the keypress and the response? I have an 8-core Ryzen processor and 16GB of RAM, so delays of that order are hard to understand.

Thank you for your wonderful generosity and hard work!
    Brian

    Hello Nir,

I’m Thorsten from Germany and I would like to thank you very much for your wonderful tools.

Today most developers don’t care anymore about how they can make their software small, efficient and portable. Instead software is often bloated and clutters systems with massive registry entries and scattered files and folders in the filesystem which aren’t removed when uninstalling them. Even the simpliest tools take 50 megabytes and more.

I grew up in the 80s and 90s so I know how small (and still good) software and games were in the good old days. Maybe because of that I love your tools and style of programming. No registry entries, no files here and there, no fancy themes…just small and efficient tools.

In my job as IT administrator I use your tools nearly every day. I’m very happy that still developers like you exist in the software world.

Keep up with your great work! All the best to you!

    Sincere greetings,
    Thorsten

  19. Jeorane says:

Congratulations, you have made a great work with so many free and well made tools.
Please, let me know, how do you make money?

  20. Stian says:

Congratulations Nir! Your tools have been an indispensable resource to me over the years. As the saying goes: Having the right tools are half the job! 🙂

I love small tools that do their task extremely well, instead of bloated and buggy “suites”.

Really interested to see what can be done with PropertySystemView as well!

  21. MH says:

Huge fan of all your work and effort. Thank you so much for the software and years of having it up. It’s much appreciate. I always come check beck once in a while to see what else you have and update things. I have donated before too. Thank you again!

  22. Jeromy Adofo says:

Congratulations on coming so far. Your work has been highly valuable and is much appreciated. Wishing you the very best!
